We like today’s Google Doodle which celebrates the 148th Birthday of Wassily Kandinsky and reflects his own distinct abstract style.
Kandinsky was born in 1866 and is the artist credited with being the first painter to produce purely abstract works, using colour as an expression of emotion, often likening the process of painting to composing music.
Kandinsky’s career spanned five decades during which he was influenced by - among other artistic movements - Impressionism, Fauvism, Pointillism, Bauhaus architecture and abstract expressionism.
